Benefits of the TransCoal Approach...

Mining organizations need only one point of contact to schedule their rail and shipping requirements and to manage their stockpiles at the Port. Resources which would otherwise be tied up in managing the mine's transport and stockpile requirements can therefore be redirected to the core business of producing coal.

In addition, the variability of rail requirements can be reduced by sharing spare capacity within the coal corridor.

TransCoal in action...

TransCoal exports in excess of 12 million tonnes per annum from Central Queensland for 3 major coal mines through the ports of Gladstone, Dalrymple Bay and Abbot Point.

With each additional mine that utilises TransCoal's service in each rail corridor, the flexibility and efficiency of the system is augmented.

TransCoal also recognised the significance of the port congestion that commenced in Australian coal ports in December 2003 and so has tracked the data and provides updates to the coal industry and various Government agencies on a weekly basis.
